Rain, Rain, go away

Yes, we got rained on again and again...

Left for Sweetwater Wilderness Ranch, which is really in the middle of nowhere in Gypsum CO, however the lunch area was so quaint and perfect in location, it was worth the drive. We promptly cancelled the horse back ride and anything else and sat around watching humming birds and rain making ripples on the lake.

On the way back, we decided to stop by Cordillera Lodge with a beautiful pub on the mountain top with the view of the golf course and mountains in the back. Stunning scenery.

Stopped by Starbucks on the way back, just cuz we were craving it and it cost twice for the chai at the starbucks in Vail by the hotel. Right when we were about to leave Edwards, it started to HAIL, luckily we were in the car but it looked like it could easily dent the car!

Next stop was supposed to be the Gondola and a beer on the top of the mountain by Lionshead Village near the hotel. The rain however prevented that... so we ended up driving to the Outlet mall in Silverthorne, that and the target and the walmart.. The Outlet mall is probably the most beautiful location for a shopping center that I have been to.

Dinner was in Beckenridge in this awesome restaurant called Ember, the food was exactly how you would find on Iron Chef... my beet gratin was spectacular!

So overall an awesome day even with all the rain.

Unscripted question: Did you know that Beavers have teeth that grow all through their lives, they have to keep gnawing them to keep them at a manageable size. They normally eat tree bark, and are constantly gnawing on them!

Today, I managed to sneak in an early morning Spa Day, steam, sauna, jacuzzi, chilled towels with cucumber, in my hotel's 10000 sq ft spa.. Rock Resorts are known for their SPAs and thats one of the reasons we book it once a year as a special treat to us. Arabelle was probably the best hotel that I have stayed at!

The day was absolutely perfect today, so I went up to the top of Eagle Vail in the gondola and did a 2 mile hike to get some amazing views of the mountain ranges surrounding Vail. Also got lunch on the top with a delicious Amber, a local breckenridge microbrew.

Next we started driving to Denver, stopped by Frisco for one more walk in the charming main street and a sandwich.

Got to Denver a few hours ago, we are staying at the Ritz in downtown, so far quite impressive however its quite small and the fact that they didnt give me an upgrade bothers me.

Tonight and tomorrow, we will be checking out Denver as much as we can at 90F weather!
