Wet and Sticky

Its been 2 days of super humid weather here in Minneapolis. I feel like I am in Miami, 5 minutes outside and I am sweating and its not that hot.

Here's a few highlights of the weekend:
Como ConservatoryThe Como Park Zoo and Marjorie McNeely Conservatory (or just Como Zoo and Conservatory) are located in Como Park at 1225 Estabrook Drive, Saint PaulMinnesota. The park, zoo and conservatory are owned by the City of Saint Paul and are a division of Saint Paul Parks and Recreation. The attractions located there include the zoo, the conservatory, an amusement park, a carouselLake Como, a golf course, a pool and more. The park receives more than 1.9 million visitors annually[2]. Como Park is a free park and while no admission fee is charged for the zoo or conservatory, voluntary donations of $2 per adult and $1 child are suggested.

It was raining all day friday, we walked around the flowers and trees, the lilies were beautiful and so were the fern garden.

Grand Ave in St Paul: We found a lincoln park in St Paul, Grand Avenue is a really nice area with brownstones and boutiques, restaurants and everything at a walking distance.

"Saint Paul, Minnesota, has a stretch of street that holds discoveries for visitors and residents alike. Rich in local character and tree-lined charm, Grand Avenue invites you to meander down its sidewalks and take in the historic and the hip, the small-town and the urbane, the engaging contradictions that are Grand Avenue.

It's a long meander: Grand Avenue spans 30 blocks from the Mississippi River to downtown Saint Paul, passing the halls of academia, old homes burnished more beautiful by time, service storefronts that make a neighborhood hum, and shops - lots of original shops - all with decidedly unmall-like appeal."

Saturday was a sunny day so we made our way to Sculpture Garden and then Lake Minnetonka:

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is an 11 acre (45,000 m²) park in MinneapolisMinnesota, in the United States.[1] It is located near the Walker Art Center, which operates it in coordination with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. It is one of the largest urban sculpture gardens in the country, with 40 permanent art installations and several other temporary pieces that are moved in and out periodically.[2][3]

The sculpture garden is right in downtown and its free.. the cherry with the spoon is probably the best art work, i really enjoyed the wierd stuff on the benches also.. the heat made us run out of there within the hour!

"Lake Minnetonka is a 14,528-acre (59 km2lake in the U.S. state of Minnesota. Throughout its recorded history, the lake has been a resort destination. It is located west-southwest of Minneapolis-St. Paul. The lake is an irregular shape with numerous bays and islands which make up about 125 miles (200 km) of shoreline.[1] The lake is located almost entirely within Hennepin County; however, its southernmost extension, at Smithtown Bay, reaches into the city of Victoria, in northeastern Carver County."

Lord Fletcher: Checked out this place which is a perfect outdoor venue for boats to park and listen to a live a band.

Nurenberg Garden: Right on the lake and the special thing was that this place was donated by the owner who asked for his house to be demolished after his death and create a garden for public.

"Noerenberg Memorial Gardens is known for its tranquility and spectacular beauty. Situated along the shore of Crystal Bay on Lake Minnetonka, Noerenberg is widely regarded as one of the finest formal gardens in Minnesota. Among its blend of perennials, annuals, trees, shrubs, and vines the garden features ornamental shade trees and a stand of conifers, an extensive daylily collection, and "Northern Lights" azaleas."

Harry Potter: Watched the last harry potter last night, was really something. The whole JK rowling enterprise has re-kindled the fantasy genre and this movie was especially special. She has done for the mainstream that Tolkien did for the geeks!
